Synopsis

An anthology of coming of age stories from the masters of crime fiction, selected and edited by John Harvey. Men writing, for the most part, about what it is to be a man. To succeed; to fail. To open one's eyes. What the majority of the pieces in the collection address, some directly, others more tangentially, are issues of self-knowledge, of accepting — or denying — certain responsibilities. What does it mean to be a father? What does it mean to be a son? What does it mean to be a man?
